Mentoring Pilot Program

The Tuskegee University Mentorship Pilot Program supports aspiring, beginning farmers and agri-entrepreneurs through hands-on training and learning opportunities. With guidance from experienced mentors, mentees will learn to set production goals, sharpen their skills, clarify their business goals, and gain a deeper understanding of the business of agriculture.

How does the program work?

The mentorship program provides aspiring and beginning farmers and agri-entrepreneurs an opportunity to learn more about farming, start a farm business, or expand their existing business by working with an experienced mentor. The mentee will receive one-on-one guidance as they grow their businesses, hone production skills, balance farm and life, and more. The mentee will have the opportunity to work directly on the mentor’s farm or on their individual agri-business, as well as an opportunity to network with other farmers and ranchers. Mentors will be paid for their knowledge and skills. Mentees will receive a monthly stipend.
